Horno Lift Station

Horno Lift Station (Ladera Ranch, Santa Margarita Water District): A 4 million dollar facility completed in January 2004, the Horno Lift Station will service 95% of sewage flows from the Ladera Ranch and Las Flores Developments in South Orange County. The station has a pumping capacity of 3500 gpm w/ TDH = 406 ft. from two sets of pumps with each set consisting of two pumps operating in series with 150 Hp motors.  The station also has two full sets of standby pumps for a total of four sets of pumps with each set operating two units in series.  Other features include: dry well, wet well, storage well that stores an hour of average demands, trash rack, emergency intertie valve vault, a flow meter, and bypass system.  The equipment in the dry well is accessed from the above-ground building that is 85' x 42' wide and equipped with a 2 ton bridge crane. The building also houses the variable speed drives, controls system,  and 750 kw generator.  The project also includes approximately 3200 LF of access road with 8" water main, 15" gravity sewer, 16" force main, and 12" recycled water main.
